    Hello,

Recently scanned my Golf Mk4 on vcds and had the following codes come up.

00528 Barometric Pressure sensor (F96) I assume this might be a map sensor but will ignore it for now
00792 A/C Pressure switch (F129) Quoted £53.13 for genuine part
01271 Positioning Motor (V68) Quoted £125.59 for genuine part
01274 Air Flow Flap (v71) Quoted £125.59 for genuine part

From my understanding the V71 is just for the re-circulation so not as important as the v68 motor flap.

My Golf's heaters are terrible for both hot and cold air it seems stuck in the middle of both.

What would a V68 flap be like to replace? and where behind the dash is it?

Would a eBay replacement be a sensible option as its about £100 quid cheaper for what I assume is part number 1J2907511A but need to remove it first to confirm the part number.

Any pictures of where this is would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

You have to remove the lower dash trim, glovebox and centre consul, it has to be set up using a diagnostic system in Basic Settings or the motor can be damaged. The V71 is evil to change, you have to jam your hand down the tiny gap between the intake and the A pillar, it rips your hands to shreds.

    I have vcds.
Sounds like it is going to be a pain to change.

I might see what it is like to remove before ordering a replacement then.

    Thanks for the reply.
