    Hi everyone,

I've just joined this site so forgive me for asking for advice on my first post!!

I have an Audi A5 2.7 TDI Sport 2008 which I have owned for five years - 113k miles on the clock, 35k when I bough it. I've been delighted with the car and never had a single problem with it until now!! I was driving a couple of weeks ago when all of a sudden it completely lost power and went into limp mode. I managed to drive it back to my house which was about 2 miles away and it conked out as I pulled into the drive. I wasn't able to start it again so called the AA who came out and advised it would need to be towed to a garage. The garage are not Audi specialists but they are a garage that have done my MOT's and services for quite a few years so I trust them more than anyone else in the area. Anyway, to cut a long story short I was advised that the fuel pump was completely knackered and needed replacing. They quoted me £700 + VAT for the pump but said I was welcome to shop around and they would fit it for me. I was actually planning on selling the car about two months before this happened but didn't get round to it!! I managed to find a used fuel pump on ebay from a reputable seller for £180 so bought this and the garage installed it for me. They started the car up and all appeared to be well until they reversed it out of the garage and it just conked out again!! The mechanic told me that it could be the injectors that were damaged due to the build up in the damaged fuel pump. He removed the injectors and quoted me £100 to have them cleaned up and refurbished by a friend of his who has a garage with the machinery to do this. He called me yesterday to advise the injectors cannot be refurbished/repaired and therefore they had to be replaced.

Audi quoted me £3k for six new injectors and I managed to get a quote of just under £2k for six new injectors elsewhere. I have been scouring ebay and many online scrap dealers and am struggling to find the correct injectors. The damaged injectors have part number 059130277AP on them and my engine code is CAMA. I have found many other injectors on ebay with the same numbers but the letters at the end are slightly different. I have read many posts on different forums trying to work out if any will be compatible but I'm just tearing my hair out because I can't work it out!!

Does anyone know what other part numbers (if any) will be compatible for mine? I found one listing selling six injectors for an Audi A4 2.7 TDI 2007 but the engine code is BPP. They have the same reference but with AJ at the end instead of AP.

Any help or advice would be so gratefully received as I cant afford to be spending £3k on getting the car sorted when its probably only worth £6k! As soon as its back up and running I will be part exchanging it for something else (probably a Q7).

    Many thanks

    Scott

thats common rails for you, dont forget the garage will also need to get the rail flushed out as well as the filter and all the pipework, as well as the fuel tank. pumps wear and the swarfe gets everywhere and one little bit not flushed out will mean the job will need doing again. and yes, you want to find injectors with exactly the same numbers on them. others might work or might not, expensive finding out.

Same issue here, luckily i just bought it from a garage and they repaired it at their expense.

New high pressure pump, had to drop the rear axle and clean the tank, had to replace the lift pump, filter, clean the lines, flush the DPF and replace the injectors after cleaning the rail. Total cost for them around £5,000

Your injectors have been discontinued as of 1st November 2009! They have been superceded with 059130277BE & 059130855FX
See ITEM 22 on the page I have linked to below. As for part you found on eBay, it has also been cancelled and supersceded with another part, but it is different from the ones I mention above. Possibly different because the BPP was a PD engine and you have a Common Rail Engine.
You can use this site to cross reference parts and see where else they are used.

    CLICK ME

Looks like the inkectors you need were used on a fair few cars. Open the link above, click the part number and select RDW Europe. It will show you all EU cars that use the same part as yours. Should help expand your search.
