I have recently had to change the battery on my '05 reg C5 A6 Allroad. Having replaced the battery, I'm now seeing an airbag warning sensor on the dashboard. Having read through the forums I see that this can be caused by something as trivial as moving the driver's seat. What's more likely to have caused the fault to appear and what can I do to get it cleared, without having to hand over huge sums of money to Audi?!

    Cheers,
    Duncan

likely to be the battery change

you can search for a friendly vcds owner near you who will clear it for a few cans of beer ...................... or buy an autel vag 505 scanner & clear it yourself with a lot more wizardy inside it .................or buy vcds

Those knock off VCDS cables are a bargain on the internet. I bought mine years ago and still use it to this day

Thanks guys - I've managed to figure out the codes:

    01217 - Side airbag igniter; driver's side (N199)
001 - Upper limit exceeded) Mil ON

My local garage were kind enough to scan and clear for me for free - RESULT!

Unfortunately, they came back again immediately. Any ideas for other solutions?

    Thanks,
    Duncan

Resistance too high usually indicates a faulty clock spring.
