Airbag light on after installing sub?

I installed a sub on my mk5 1.9 TDI which does not use much power at all, and since, the amber warning light for air bags has come up on the dash. What should i do? and does this mean the airbags will fail? It may just be coincidental but it came on literally straight after i hooked the sub up. Ideas?

you need to get the code thats putting the light on. with the light on the airbags are de activated so will not deploy if you crash but also means it will fail an mot.

Were you poking round under the seats or had the seats slid right forward or back, and possibly disturbed a connector underneath. We found this on mates touran. Seems to occur on golfs as well.
