    Hi everyone,
My new car a a4 2.8 Quattro 1998 30v engine seems to have flat spots. It just does not seem to have all the power and preformance it should have. I was wondering if the plug leads maybe need changing, what do you all think? Or has anyone any other ideas that might help my preformance.
    Cheers.

Hi there, thanks for that response. I too was thinking it could be the coil packs, or a combination of blocked fuel fillter old plug leads and faulty coil packs. I think i will have to change all these first and see if it makes any differance. Unless anybody else suggests anything else. Thanks for your input though.

Did you manage to resolve the problem?
If so, was it the coil pack/leads/fuel filter?
I have similar symptoms with my '99 A6 2.8i Quattro ie lack of power/hesitation under light to medium acceleration, it used to occur intermittently but seems almost permant now !.
It is fully serviced, showing no fault codes, I changed the MAF - no difference so I would be interested in your results.

Hi there, no i did not get to the bottem of this problem. I changed the maf, plugs, plug leads, fuel filter, temp sender, air filter. But after all this still not sorted the problem. I was getting anoyed, then somebody offered to buy my car so i sold it, end of my headache. Sorry couldnt help you anymore. The only thing i did not try was the coil pack about £95 europarts. You could try that.
    Hope this helps. Cheers mark

Just buy one or pick one up second hand and swap the replacement one with each as you would be real unlucky for it to be more than one also maybe swap out the coolant sensor as this can be another power zapping part but it tends to show starting issues when they rear there ugly head.
