    Hi all,

I brought a new q7 last year and really enjoying it - lovely tech and interior! Part ex'd my x5 40d.

We now need a tow bar.. i can see westfalia make a compatible tow bar and i can also see via the search function a member has had one fitted. I would like to find out if there have been any issues after fitting and ideally i would like to see some pictures of the cut out required to the bumper.. i would be very grateful for any help!

I have a panoramic roof - fitter said this may cause an issue? again any advice/knowledge about this would be great!

The spec of my car for those interested - which to me is perfect (except the missing tow bar - doh)

    272 s line
    Orca black
    Grey Valcona leather
    Bose
Park assist pack - 360 cameras and it parks itself - yet still the mrs has kerbed the wheels
    Dynamic Pack
    Technolgy pack
    flat bottom steering wheel
85litre tank - as hard as i try the most i can get in is 77 litres and computer said 0 miles at fill up.
    Pano roof
    memory seats/mirrors

Hi I had one fitted which was indeed the Westfalia without the dedicated wiring kit as that was unavailable three months ago or so when I got it done. Universal wiring kit was used (not my preference but I had to get it done) and I have had zero problems. Great towbar, simple to connect and disconnect and the cut out is very neat. I can take a pic when I'm back home if you like. Best of luck. Scott.

I'm not sure where you are but it was Buchans in Cambuslang. I can't fault them.

This first pic is with me sitting on the ground. I rotated the electric socket down so you can see more clearly as you can't really see the cut out unless you get this close.

This second pic shows the cutout which is really neat and well done. The tow hitch itself fits into the hole covered by the red blanking plug which keeps it all clean when not in use and it's dead easy to fit and disconnect. As it's removable it does of course lock in place with a key if desired.

Not sure if it's the Audi or the Westfalia kit but the indicators beep when it's connected giving you confidence whilst in use. Hope that helps.
