Xenon headlights - 2012 A5 S Line

I am having an issue with my 2012 A5, the Left headlight went off a few days ago with an error on the dash "Left dipped headlight error/main beam headlight" I drove on with the understanding i would get a new bulb later in the week. Then a couple of days ago, I got the same problem this time with the right, and the left was back on.. After investigating further, on start up the left would be the only light on, then after around 1min, both would be off.

I plugged into VAGCOM and see the following related errors;

00978 - Lamp for Low Beam; Left (M29)
012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit

Anyone experience with this fault or any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Its unusual to both go, but sometimes if ones got an issue it can sometimes cause some silly things with the other, my 1st thing would be try another bulb in one side, however they both connect to central electrics & thus it could be related to that module, however its not a common fault so I'm not convinced its not bulb related, may even be a common ground issue, but try bulbs 1st.
