Alternator query

Hi all
I'm completely new to this but hope someone can help me out. I have a 52 plate vw polo 1.4 tdi hatch, and need to replace the alternator. The one currently in situ is a45903023a, 14v, 120 amps, manufactured in 04/03/03 so must be a replacement?
I'm trying to find a cheap as chips replacement but am confused with the different codes coming up. Will another alternator from a different year, as in a younger model, be okay?

So would this one be okay?

Really have no clue and will be asking a mobile mechanic to fit it, but he recommended I buy the alternator first to keep costs down.

always replace like for like , getting a smaller alternator will kill it & your wallet ...................................... the mechanic wont be impressed if the new one doesn't fit or has different electric connections
