Just read this interesting article where Audi are working with some cities to show in car when lights will go green ( bet the cities will be in Germany)

Looks like it's part if a new feature with MY17 cars built after Jun 16.

For some reason can't get taps talk to show link

Read about this a while ago, it's in trials in a German city (can't recall which) but it's meant to tell the car when it's going to change so the car can adjust its speed and save fuel.

I think the amount of pollution caused by making all the sensors and money installing them will outweigh the usefulness.

I think that's kinda cool...next step will be for it to recognise lights going red and bring the car to a stop. I know it'll do this via ACC (bring car to a stop) if others are in front but imagine it being able to stop as the first car at the lights..

All driving skills will be soon out of the window...

If I remember rightly that is part of this system. It can stop the car (in conjunction with ACC to account for other cars) if the lights are red.
