Polo 1.4 Tdi, 2005/6, face lift model

I would be grateful if anyone could share any experience that have had with this or a similar problem.

Car runs fine, engine light comes on after a few miles, seems to run fine.

    The error codes reported are:
18062 - Please check DTC Memory of Instrument Cluster
    P1654 - 35-10 - - Intermittent
    19461 - Relay for High-Output Preheating of Coolant (J360)
    P3005 - 35-10 - Short to Plus - Intermittent
    18027 - Glow Plug Relay (J52)
    P1619 - 35-10 - Open or Short to Ground - Intermittent
    17910 - Fuel Pump Relay (J17)
    P1502 - 35-10 - Short to Plus - Intermittent

If I clear them, the one that keeps coming back is:
    17910 - Fuel Pump Relay (J17)
    P1502 - 35-10 - Short to Plus - Intermittent

I am having trouble finding this relay, the suggestion is that it is under the steering wheel, and there are a few there but I do not believe it is the fuel pump relay

    Any help or guidance appreciated

you want to replace the Relay 409 which is located on the relay plate rail located behind the fuse box which is on the side of the dash when you open the drivers door. To gain access you need to remove the whole section.
The picture below is from a left hand drive vw relay plate is behind the removable grey panel below the light switch. If you remove the panel above the foot pedals you should see the relays.

    Thanks, Turboextreme.

I have had a very good look around there, have found a number of small relays, but not one marked 409
I will have a much better look again
    Thanks.
