    Nor for my '01.

Cunning to say the least. Although that is finally recognition of a problem that has been apparent for years.

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.

    Interesting...

I was in my local dealer a few weeks back, asking about the swimming pool I was carrying around with me in the foot weel. They mentioned a "recall" for that very problem, though said it wasn't on the system for my vehicle, or had been done already... which obviously it hadn't.

I would suggest in the UK as always, VW will keep quiet unless challenged, and the default answer will be "we know nothing about that..." In the US they have to be open and transparent alerting owners and fix the problem

Had same argument with BMW in the past, in the end I had to produce the service recall notice someone had posted online... and then the response was "oh that notice" hmmm...

There is no recall in the UK.

The recall in USA was ordered by their equivalent of VOSA because it was causing brake problems (which I too had) you can complain to VOSA, but they are pretty useless in my experience, as they will ask VW to investigate! D'oh!

In the recall letter they mention that they will do a modification. Does anyone know what this mod entails and does it cure all our leaks problems?

When I last went to the VW dealer, there were no recall actions on the computer screen when he bought up my car's details.. Mine is an '02 passat and I have already had to fix this damn problem myself.. Still it wasn't too much of a problem, except for me breaking two of the black pieces of trim which run along the bottom of the windscreen!! Damn it!

I broke my original, then nearly broke the replacement - I suppose atleast they are reasonably cheap, a logical reason, as so many are broken. Glad I am not the only one .

Could I get the blessed thing to click into the rail, what a pain! the rail is damaged\faulty where the filter is, so I guess this is another design flaw, and doesn't look if it can be replaced without removing the screen.
