    Hello All

Whilst sitting in my A4 S line today I noticed when looking at the wing mirror there was quite a bit of vibration in that the car behind was wobbling alightly. I put my hands on the steering feel and could feel vibrations through the steering wheel too. This must have crept up on me as I'm sure this was not there before. My question, is something amiss? The engine does sound a bit loud and when from idle I touch the accelerator I can feel the engine moving from left to right or vice versa!

    Thanks

My first port of call would be the tyre's,they could be out of round on one, next the steering components ball joints etc,if its through the steering wheel its most likely to be associated with it.

    Thanks Nevo

Just had it MOT'd today at Audi under their MOT protection plan, no faults found and I assume Audi check the steering components, bal joints tyres etc or am I mistaken?

    Cheers

They certainly would have, and probably done a scan looking for work,so basically if your steering's wobbling when driving its your tyre(s)could be you've lost a weight or a out of shape tyre, the mot doesn't check the balance of a wheel, best bet is to get the wheel spun up on the car.A engine mount would have to be extremely bad to cause that much vibration.

    Thanks Nevo

Just a quick update - the vibration in the cabin is noticaeble when the car is still e.g. brakes on or handbrake on and is not noticeable at all when driving. When stationary with the engine on if you look at both wing mirrors you can see the world doing a happy dance . When driving all is OK.

    Thanks

Sorry got the wrong end of the stick, stationary it could be the mounts, flywheel or a misfiring, with the engine off try rocking the engine from side to side.Do you know whether a scan was done at audi.

    Hi Nevo

I don't believe a scan was performed at Audi. I do have a slight clutch judder at times which clears up after about 10 minutes...

    Thanks
