I just enabled this and it works immediately without having to switch of the ignition etc.

One thing I noticed is, you can lock the car with the fob or touching the handle (if you have advanced key), however you need to use the unlock button on the key - touching the handle or boot doesn't unlock. I'm happy with this and probably a good safety feature.

    Thanks again
Thanks for trying it SrbSq7! Great feedback!

I noticed that after locking with the engine running, the boot is not locked UNLESS you set "Disable tailgate handle" to ON in the MMI central locking section. (US 2017 Q7 Prestige)

    Hi Rick,

I just checked mine and "Disable tailgate handle" isn't checked but the boot is also locked. If I press the boot button on the key, the boot pops open slightly, but I need to touch the handle for it to open completely. At this point, all the doors remained locked and required the unlock button to be pressed on the key. Shutting the boot locked it again.

There seem to be three bits in Module 46 coding in OBDeleven that "may" affect this:

    central_locking_sys_lock_unlock_at_eng_running
    auto_lock_not_at_mmi (4th to last entry)
    auto_lock & auto_unlock

(Mine are currently set to not active, not active and active respectively)

Not sure if some combo of these may be the reason, or the fact that I have the Viper remote start wired in and that is affecting it.

I just checked mine also and "Disable tailgate handle" isn't checked but the boot is locked, it will only unlock when FOB unlock is pressed. I have a Prestige Model

Some one from another forum who has a remote start was asking about the range on the Audi FOB isn't good, I posted this in regards to range limitations of the Audi FOB

This is the VCDS coding for Removing Key FOB Range Limitation.

    Address 46: Central Conv.

    Byte 28

UnCheck Bit 1 Range Limitation Lock
UnCheck Bit 2 Range Limitation Rear?
UnCheck Bit 3 Range Limitation Opening
UnCheck Bit 4 Range Limitation Panic

I just UnChecked all 4, but never did testing to see if actual range is gained. If someone can do a unlock / lock test to see what distance it stops working then do this coding and see if range is gained that would nice to confirm.

    Hey JoeRez

Yep, I saw those channels too. but not checked to see what those values mean in terms of true distance (for example, does it reflect Centimetres/Inches etc?

I know that boot close using keyfob you need to be close to car by default, but to open boot from keyfob you can be further away

    Needs some investigation....

I'll see if I can do this today on mine...

This is regarding steering Wheel Heat

The module is 16 Steering wheel in VCDS or 16 Steering Column Electronics in OBDeleven and this is just an Adaption, no coding necessary

My default value from the Factory was set at 34 degrees and the max value you can change to is 45 degrees. andyhud007 said after speaking with Audi Don't go over 38 degrees may cause damage.

    Hey Joe,

I think this was discussed before and after speaking to Audi on it they said dont set it over 36/38c I recall for potential damage to the steering wheel. Its why I didnt post the coding in the end but good luck!

Mine was factory set at 34. After Andy's comment about possible damage, I decided to leave it as is until it got cold enough to want to use it. Now that I've used it a few times on cold mornings, I'm finding that 34 is just fine. It's gets nice and warm. Not sure I'd want it any higher.

Thank you Andy and Rick, I updated my post with your warning. I was unaware, going to lower to 40 and test.
