    Good afternoon,
    on Friday night whilst going away for the weekend the Cambelt on my Audi A4 2.0tdi snapped. Any ideas on the potential damage and repair costs? Please.

    most valves bent, at least £1200 to replace bent valves and new timing belt kit. might be cheaper to source a used or rebuilt head.
    Audi 80 tdi avant with 360,000 miles...

    Ouch, ant ideas where I may find an used or rebuilt head from?

    look on ebay for a used head. mind you, some reputable rebuilders are on there as well so you might find a new one. i like ebay and paypal becasue you are covered if something goes wrong.

    It often smashes the lifter fingers and I have had them bend rods as well so with the head off, the piston protrusion should be checked first. When we do these, the only way we will do it is to fit an exchnage VAG head, it retails at £1766 but it is an extremely comprehensive kit even coming with two new cams and 16 followers.
