Hi thanks, for letting me join your forum.

The Brake Servo Failure has come up on the dashboard of our car, it flashed up before and went away now it won't switch off. this car has had little use from new and surprised at this fault.
A few months ago we had another scary problem, whilst driving at 50mph on cruise control i went to hit the brakes and the cruise control would not disengage until after about 5 panicky hard presses on the peddle, we haven't used the cruise control since.

Could these two problems be related? Took it to a friends garage yesterday and he reset the warning light, after 2miles the error came back again accompanied by warning noises and flashing lights on the dash.

I read somewhere to top up the brake fluid, it was halfway between minimum and maximum, i expect it to be there as it has original brakes from new. The car is only used for school runs and trips to the local shops, does anyone know of a fix or what could be wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help given, Regards, Steven.

SOLVED: RAC man found a split in the pipe, I have cut it off see photo, I cut the pipe back, put the pipe in boiling water so i could get the connector on to make it soft for a quick temporary repair the cable tie is to keep it together now the pipe is short and the car seems ok and all the errors have gone. New part coming on Tuesday.

Phoned up for a new one this morning and there is a new part number so this was obviously a design fault. Hopefully the cruise control will be OK now.

This is the part number for the existing pipe. 1K2 612 041 E

As a precaution check to see if your brake lights come on when you press the brake and to see if the brake pedal sensor is correctly fitted and undamaged...
