    Default X reg Polo SDI Orange coil light – 16-10-2007,12:27 PM
    Hi there,

    The coil light keeps coming on for 5 - 10 mins flashing and then going off again. Has anyone got any ideas???

    It is an indication of an engine management fault so you should take it to someone with fault code reading equipment. It could be any one of 29 separate faults from something simple like a coolant temp sender or brake light switch (the most common faults) to a faulty ECU (which is very rare).

    ok is this the same light that is on when your heater plugs warm the car first thing in the morn .
    no matter how you try you always come back to what you first started

    Yes and it is used as an MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light) on some models.
