    hi any idea's

    audi a6 died in middle of road , (6 six months earlier did 200 mile on tank of petrol accident fillled tank with petrol not deisel ), when it died read fault code said quantity adjuster faulty , scanned it with snap-on scannner and bosch both said fuel pump problem , so replaced feul pump and she started a bit lumpy at first but ok after 5 mins , only took 15 mins to change used locking pin in pump so the pump was locked off on the car before removing it , changed timing pulley will only go one way or the locking pin will not fit , right pump is locked off put new pump back in to car nothing has moved all timing marks are spot on, pumps in belts on put it back together and bleed it ,
    PROBLEM START "starting from COLD isnt great ", but starting from hot switch it off and start it again starts every time , from hot leave it 45 mins will not start , leave it over night starts in the morning , but give it a spray of carb cleaner then it will start instantly
    audi read codes no codes

    do you have the same power as before if not double check timing of pump to see if it is 180 degrees out that is one tun of the engine i have had this happen. engine hard to start from cold but will start with a hot engine will also sound a little noisier

    if anything its faster now , really quick, sounds the same , does have a little surging on tick over , i did a diesel the other day and i put the pump out 180 just to see , it had no power and the tick over was really bad well it didnt

    its really a hot and cold problem but main thing is the not starting, when hot turn off and restart (it starts) instant , leave it maybe 30 to 45 mins it will still be hot but will not start but there is loads of blue unburnt fuel, cold start it always starts not great but it does start , its that in between temp were its not cold but its not baking hot say about 60-90 on temp gauge
