    Dear all,

Thanks for your patience, and I hope I can be as informative as I can, apologies for my absence.
Does anyone have any clues on where to start checking.

Saturday car drives fine..... Sunday did not use it.
    Monday start engine....
Dash lights are on for ABS, ESP, and the engine light at the top.
I also in addition have bulbs that are not working according to the warning (they are)
The electronic handbrake is not working
the speedo is not working and also therefore not clocking miles (the rev counter is)
the cruise control is not working
the parking sensors are not working
the steering is heavier, there is some power assistance but it is heavier than usual.

these are only what I have discovered so far... unsure if there is anything else.
The car drives fine and works providing i dont need any of the above....
I am merely guessing at the potential electrical fault as how can so much go wrong so suddenly?
if anyone can shed any light on where to start, I would be grateful.
someone has suggested the ABS ecu?

    Many thanks in anticipation

    1. How old is your battery? 2. get a VCDS scan before making expensive choices.

Have a VCDS scan and post the result here. I'm thinking that either the battery or the regulator of the alternator need changing or even both.
I had similar dash lights showing and car died while driving in low speed luckily and it was fixed after changing the above.

It is obviously some power supply problem. Must do diagnostic scan.

first check, is the alternator belt intact ?

then battery check to see if you have a dud cell(s) ............usually free check

    then check alternator output .
