Today I disconnected the battery on my 2006 Golf Plus TDi in order to try to clear the airbag warning light. Oddly the alarm went off even with the battery totally disconnected. How is this possible? Does it have it's own battery (I'm guessing it must have)?

And, can I stop this by pressing the button on the interior pillar between the front and rear doors before I disconnect the battery?

    Thanks in advance

    Adam

It has it's own battery pack, hence keeps going off. Try disabling alarm using button inside BEFORE disconnecting the main battery.

Did you manage to clear the airbag warning light?
Had similar problem 3 weeks ago with connector under drivers seat and finally managed to clear by disconnecting harness plug and re-fitting.
I then cleared fault with VAGCOM all good so far.
