    Hi

    I've got a 2005 Mk5 Golf 2.0 FSI, Engine code: BLX.

A few days ago my car started juddering at random times in all gears, it was quite violent and was pretty scary to drive! It almost feels like the engine isn't getting enough fuel and is failing to run the engine.
I also occasionally lose all throttle response and the engine will not rev or pick up speed, slowing down until it either suddenly bursts back to life(depending on what throttle I have down) or stalls...

I also noticed that when it happened today, I was going about 20mph and It felt like the engine had stalled(I had lights ping up and red battery light come on briefly) before springing back into life and throttle started responding again... I'm at a loss.

I took it for a code scan today, I didn't get the error codes as he wasn't sure if they were recent or old codes. so until I can get the errors to replicate I'm left speculating... I know that there was a fuel pressure sensor error, a few Intake Manifold errors too (Intake manifold tuning valve?), a knock sensor error on cylinder 2 and an o2 bank 1 sensor 3 heating control error(Obviously without the actual codes these are no use to anyone)

    Essentially my(intermittent) symptoms are:

    -Random stuttering/juddering/coughs in all gears
-Loss of all power when coughing/stuttering AND random loss of Throttle response
-Erratic idle, ranges between nominal idle speed and around 400-500 rpm lower(revs bounce slowly between the two...sometimes causes the engine to stall)

I have replaced both the plugs and fuel filter in case it was related to those, however no luck with those... Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Or any recommendations on what I should look into first?

i.e Faulty Fuel pump or some of the intake errors, check grounding points perhaps?
I'm not sure, Any help is appreciated though!

    Cheers

I've got a 1.6FSI also 2005 which has done 104k miles. I'm on my third fuel pump and experienced some of the symptoms you describe. If you have VCDS you could go into engine measuring blocks and see what the low and high fuel pressure readings are using a passenger to watch the laptop while you drive.
