Hi, i'm hoping someone can help me... my mk4 tdi golf 115 bhp is losing power but there seems to be no specific time when it does it. i have changed the fuel filter and added injector cleaner to the diesel. I then changed my MAF as it had been 70,000 miles since i last changed it, but it still loses power sometimes and the turbo wont cut in and seems like the car is in limp home mode. can anyone suggest anything else to check or replace? i cant drive around at 20mph any more.!!!

    Thanks

    Lee

Stuff paying £100 for a scan, I would try to find someone local to you that has Vag-Com on some of the Forums, usually people will do this for what we in Scotland call "Beer tokens", otherwise there must be a reasonably competent non-Vag garage who could do it for less or a Specialist??

I have a similar problem with my 2001 gt tdi but it has all the power at low rpm and seems to fizzle out at about 4000 rpm it started doing it a couple of weeks ago. I started to overtake a car and was going great guns when it was like someone just pulled the turbo out and threw it away and then after that you had to have your foot flat to the floor for a few seconds then it would burst into life again!! very frustrating!! any ideas?
