my stepdad has recently purchased a brand new mk5 R32, and ive searched hi and low around the internet but cant seem to find anything, its to tow a caravan at weekends, obviously the problem is the twin centre exausts would obstruct the tow bar, personally i think the mans insane even considering trying to tow a caravan with the thing.. but needs must as my family are going to france within two weeks time and need one by then, every website ive been on says 'Fits TDI,GTI, bla, bla, Not Compatible with R32', soo.. just wondering if any of you lot know of any loony company that has made a tow bar for an R32 and could pass on the details to me.. any help is good, cheers

I find this a strangly facincting subject. However. This is very short notice, let alone to locate a towbar, but to fit it as well. Clearly he isn't short of a bob or two, so in this instance his hard earned may be better spent on hotel rooms. I have put together some research - its stuck at the top of th mark 5 section, ties are some pointers in it. If may of been better off waiting for the passat r36.

An R32 with a towbar - that makes me die a little inside - but, to each their own.

Ben (GOLFMK5.....) is the man when it comes to towbars

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.

    Thanks

I had a fleeting glimpse of a MK5 R32 as it shot passed me and i recalled this thread.

I now remember wondering how or where or indeed what would the twin electrics obstruct? Exhaust outlet.

Maybe the rear section of the exhaust could be changed and then fit a GTI bumper painted to suit.
