The guy I bought mine from got a Passat B6 2.0 tdi Sport , he was straight onto a forum asking about his lost 10 mpg.

Get another 1.9 PD AVF / AWX legend with lower mileage and remap .

    Lesson learnt .

It's been a very expensive lesson. I changed the oil and then the car died of oil pump failure so it's game over for me.

I've been doing a bit of research and ringing loads of engine replacement companies and apparently ALL of the 2.0tdi engines go bang, it doesn't matter what partcode BRE or BRD they all have the hex driven oil pump. It's also not "just a few on the internet". There's a whole industry that's been created solely for replacing 2.0tdi engines. Even if I was to get it repaired it'll go bang again and no engine company would guarantee the 2.0tdi engine.

I'm just going to buy a **** car and have that for a year until I can afford another Audi but it will never be another 2.0tdi engine.

As it stands now I have a non running car and I'll probably end up scrapping it.

The clutch in my B6 went twice within 6 months after the remap, do you think that the remap caused it? I had it done at celtic tuning in cornwall.

Very likely , have you a rr graph print out ?

I suspect a high torque with a spike , which is the opposite to my super smooth broad table top mountain .
