    Hey!

So today I went to put some fuel in my 57 plate tdi s-line avant, and the door on the filler wouldn't open. I could see the pin from the actuator was still in the locked position. So I locked and unlocked the car several times..still nothing. I had a look for a manual release but couldn't see one. Any ideas? I don't think it's linked, infact I'm sure it's not but the other day I noticed a noise coming through my speakers that matched my revs perfectly..I thought it was my turbo giving up at first. I had previously changed the fuse for the fag lighter cause it had never worked so I removed the fuse when I noticed the noise and it was still there. Then I noticed a cracking noise when I opened/closed the drives door..so I wiggled the cables that go from the body to the door and it went away! I doubt it's linked but..!

Back to the fuel cap..I guess it's the actuator that's had it? Can I acces/ remove this if I strip the boot out?

    Thanks,

    Joe

If you open where the sub woofer & amp is located in the boot/trunk on the right hand side there should be a manual release that you can pull to release the solenoid pin on the fuel filler cap. It is a plastic loop on the end of a type of cable if I recall correctly.

Got it! Thanks a lot. I had to remove the trim and the big plastic bit of clobber that the amp/sub are mounted to...it had managed to drop all the way down. What a pain!
