Spent the past 2 weekends looking through a list of possible choices

The 'other half' has finally put the 2015 A5 Sportback 2.0 TDI Multi-tronic SE Technik top of her list

As with all Audi's I know that almost everything is an optional extra

But... According to both Audi dealers we've visited you can't retro-fit power-folding mirrors

    Surely this can't be right?

Some clever spark must know how to do it?

    Regards,

Audi will tell you they can't be fitted as they aren't allowed to retrofit anything.

They can be fitted but each folding base is ~£180 you'll need 2, the various trim pieces are another £80-90 and more than likely you'll need 2 door controllers as standard ones don't support power fold.

    Thank you for your response.

I assume I'd also need a new wing mirror switch?

With that small shopping list of parts fitted would I also need to wire anything in or "just" program it all in with VCDS?

    Regards,

The new mirror switch is included in the "various trim pieces".

No wiring needed and yes you will need VCDS but as I said, more than likely you'll need 2x door controllers.

In "the good old days" the door controllers (on my Mk4 Golf) were part of the window motor/ unit.
Or are these controllers a completely separate part?

    I'm afraid they're separate.

Hmm, hardly a surprise for Audi.

Do you happen to know where they're located?

Also, anywhere to find the part numbers required?

They're located behind the door card. Ideally you need the original part number to see whether they're compatible or not.

So I could end up buying a car that doesn't have compatible door controllers?
