hi the missis a4 had a accident, which had damaged the back 1/4 and the back wheel
the car has been repaired but now there is a warnign light on, i think its the traction control light
the garage have said it has been plugged in and it the steering angle sensor ( the one on the steering wheel) they say it has nothing to do with the accident and there not fixing it.
there wasn't any warning lights on before the accident.
the insurance company have said that we have to take it to get it plugging in at audi (at our expence) and if the problem is accident related they will fix it.
my question is that would an impact on the back wheel throw on a warning light
or is it possible that the garage who have repaired it have messed something up, as they told us that after fitting the rear quarter panel they was expecting the airbag light to come on and usually they reset it, but they said the airbag light didnt come on and the traction warnign light appeared instead

if anyone can shed any light on the situation, either about the reapir, fault or where i stand with the insurance company i would really appreciate it
    thankyou

Somewhere along the line, someone must have read the fault memory, you can't just say the steering angle sensor is faulty, unless you know, you have destroyed it in some way or another.

Check that the brake light bulbs are functioning correctly. Take them out and re-seat them properly
You might find this sorts the problem... good luck

No mix up - maybe the garage mixed it up?

traction control ESP warning light can be affected by dodgy brake light connection or bulb

i know from what i can figure out they didnt use a vag com
i asked for a fault code but i dont think they have one
they just said the steering sencor was at fault, theres something not right at all, i wonder if its anything to do with the repair cause theve swapped the quarter panel so at some point the car has been stripped to complete bits, i knew there would be problems when they mentioned just car clinic, i asked if i could take it to a dealer but there was no other choice
i dont think the steering wheel has removed from the car so i dont know how theyve broke that if it is that
