Hay folk's new to the forum after a little lurking.

Looking for advice sold my previous car and have decided to go for a 2006 model a4 but am stuck between 2. Basically.

Average of 10k a year with shorter run's with occasional 700-1000 up/down long trip a year.

Car 1. 2006 a4 2.0 tfsi sline 60k miles full audi history colour silver full leather mint condition
    or
Car 2.2006 a4 2.0 tdi 170 sline 62k full audi history colour lava grey cloth mint condition

So petrol or diesel?........ love them both but cant make the mind up, so user's looking for what to look for and definate things to check?

OK, you got my curiosity. I have a 2007 "BRE" engine. I believe it's the better of the engines with regards to the oil pumps, so not too concerned about that. But the injectors? Will the warranty be honored however many hands it's been passed through? What are the symptoms? Do I just phone up an Audi dealer and given them the car details, and if it needs it, they just sort it?

All BRE engines have issues with the oil pump balance shaft.

BRE is only slightly better as it isn't chain driven where the tensioner fails .

Oil Pumps - KMB Parts Direct

Loss of oil pressure is definitely something to be concerned about , multiple simple engineering reasons why it fails .
