    Hi all,
Recently joined forum after buying a 2010 3.0 TDI SE Quattro.
Really pleased with the car, but it hasn't got the DRL / LED headlights. Apologies if I'm going over old ground, but does anyone know if I can upgrade the current lights (front) to the newer led ones? Being a 2010 would CCM and ballasts etc be compatible with the newer lights? I've been offered a set at a reasonable price, just wanted to check with those in the know before committing.
    Any advice appreciated. 👍

You can upgrade them. Over the last 2 yrs retrofits of the light system front and rear have become much more abundantly available, and at more affordable rates.
I would advise though, that if you are gonna upgrade the lights, make sure you do the front and the rear, and the led front indicators too. It will give a much better overall look. Rather than a facelifted main headlamp unit paired with the old indicator strip and old rear light unit...
    Good luck! 😉

Thanks for the reply. The rear lights are already the latest ones strangely, as are the front indicators, all of these are led, which makes me wonder why the headlights aren't, perhaps it was an option?
Do you know if ballasts / control units for the headlights are plug and play, or do these need changing also?
    Thanks again.

You'll have halogen lights. Xenon lights were standard only with the S-Line at that MY.

It should be fairly simple to replace them with the Xenon units, but you'll need bulbs and ballasts to go with them. It depends whether the existing module would support the LEDs. I would think it would, requiring just a VCDS mod to enable it.
It would definitely be easier that retrofitting to a pre-facelift Q.

Thanks for the info, that explains why the fronts are halogen. I'll have a word with Audi and see what they would charge for a VCDS re-programme, and take it from there.
    Thanks again,
    John.

I've just had my 2009 pre facelift with halogens upgraded to the rear leds, plus the newer xenon with drls on the front. a guy called ash done mine for £200 (i supplied all parts) he's based in kent, goes under the name audiretrofits.( http://audi-retrofits.co.uk ) pictures of his work done etc on instagram, i liked his work i seen online that i drove 2 hours from coventry to get him to do the work

you may find you will also need new "headlight carriers" for both sides i did, see here:Audi Scheinwerferhalter absorption Facelift 2010 Onwards Right: Amazon.co.uk: Car & Motorbike

also a halogen to xenon adapter harness: Bi Xenon HID Headlights - Adapter- Audi Q7 DRL WIRING loom harness Cable | eBay

then coding in, possibly some mods to the control board located near drivers side footwell, worth the effort thou and i recommend ash to do the work if you can get the parts cheap
