2016 mmi 2g satnav maps update dvd

Hi

Has any one tried to update their maps?

On my 2007 Avant, following the update, the navigation works fine, except there is no traffic information. It appears that there is a problem with the TMC tables. Other forums report the same issue with the 2016 disc.

Fortunately, it is possible to revert to the 2015 maps where TMC does work.

Genuine disc?

I have the genuine disc and that also does not provide TMC. I have asked Audi UK abou this and they did mention that there was a change of mapping supplier which might explain it.

So I wonder what Audi will do about that then!

I am in France at the moment and the TMC on my 2016 disc works perfectly here.

Were they anticipating BREXIT?

TMC usually runs off signals from local radio stations. In my area the TMC signal comes from Classic.

Yes and it does on my 2012 DVD. However the 2016 version has no station in the TMC Source field in settings. I had the new DVD in for over 30 minutes and still no TMC. I put the 2012 version back and TMC was there again instantly.

Sounds like a fault to me!

Odd, my A3 which uses RNSE supplies TMC using a genuine disc, as does my A4 which is 3G+ HDD, again 2016 mapping and TMC is fine.

The 2015 genuine disc 2G High worked fine with TMC in my old A6.

So, the A3 is a 3G system. Audi UK said they changed supplier after the 2015 DVD so my 2016 DVD for 2G MMI is the first from this new supplier.

I am in France tomorrow and so will try it there but for now I will stick with the old version.
