Infotainment issue - diagnostic advice VCDS

Hi All,

I've been having issues with my Audi Infotainment system on my 2008 A5 3.0 TDI Sport and would really appreciate some advise on how to diagnose/fix.

Symptoms:
- Plays for a while and then switches off and tries to restart.
- Happens on all settings (CD, SD, FM, Phone and DAB) although seems to be more frequent on FM waveband.

Actions taken:
- Tried to replicate with a pattern i.e. lights on/off, CD on/off, ESP on/off etc. and there doesn't seem to be a pattern.
- Used VCDS to get error codes.
- Audi experienced mechanic said it may relate to a retrofit Telephone (I didn't retrofit the telephone module or know about it) module however this isn't the module that is giving an error and he didn't want to get involved in fixing it.

Additional info:
- Had to get a replacement passenger airbag ECU fitted a month ago as the original failed
- No other issue to date....yet

Questions:
- Why is there 2 entries for radio?
- Does anyone know what I need to disable on a modular basis to rule out specifics i.e. telephone, DAB etc.?

My quick thought on this is that the CAN gateway is coded incorrectly.... no suggestions 'cause it would take a bunch of playing to figure it all out. Ya need someone with boots on the ground and experience who is willing to work through it with ya.
