Hi, new to this website...first thread.

Hoping to buy one of these cars pretty soon (3-4 yrs old, 50-60k), but unsure which to go for. The horsepower is obvious, but i've heard that the 130 is a much smoother drive, and sounds a lot quieter too? Interior spec levels seem to be the same (apart from wood trim). The 150 has a stiffer suspension... anything else?? I've also heard about people having a tune-up box fitted to increase an extra 30bhp, how bad is this for the car? (aparently the 150's internals handle this better) would it be better to go for a 130 and tune it up to 160bhp for £250?? arghh, expert advice needed!!!

Also any other advice would be much appreciated...eg best places to buy one, things to look out for eg cam belt changes etc?

Love VW build quality, and the interior is leaps and bounds above similarly priced cars.

Sorry, bit long winded this thread!!!

    Alex

Just sold Golf GT TDI 150 to make room for new Eos. Had 130 before, not even in same league as 150. You have a choice go for 150, tho' much rarer to find. Sold 2003 52 plate 150 with 23000 miles on the clock for just under £11 K.
