Hi All,

I'm having high beam problems with my 2012 mk6 golf tdi which i recently purchased. I was driving last night and flashed a driver to let them through and i noticed they didnt flash. I was a bit perplexed but thought maybe a bulb had gone. So i woke up this morning and decided to test it and this is what i found.

Switch on auto in morning (only drl's on) : drl lights work, flash works
Switch on side lights : flash works, sidelights work
Switch on dipped beams : dipped beam on, sidelights on, drl's off and flash doesn't work. I also tried putting my main beams from the stalk on but they didn't come on. The blue light on the dash appeared but no sign of any lights.

Surely the bulbs work so something maybe wrong. Any ideas on what could be causing this? I did have a look on other forums, some pointed to the bulbs needed replacing, some said the stalk needed cleaning and some said the ground was causing this. None of the forums had definitive answers so i thought i'd post something on here.

Additional notes:

I did have some fog lights wired in a few days ago by a VW specialist and they put in a new ground point which was connected to the wiring loom for the fogs. Not sure if this could be causing the outage.

These parts were fitted (electrical only):

1. Fog lights
2. Fog light harness
3. High spec BCM
4. Headlight switch with fogs functionality

Thanks,
