I am recently new to the Audi marque (actually never owned a german car before this so new to all VAG products) so forgive these 'beginners' questions. I am adept with a set of spanners though and know what I am doing (I think)!

I bought a A3 Quattro with a blown headgasket, turns out it was considerably more than that, it had been driven and overheated continuely I would say, so I have pretty much junked that engine and bought another ARY engine that I got for a good price. Instead of just dumping the engine in the car and driving it, (I want a trouble free engine for a few thousand miles and the base car is very good) I have stripped the replacement engine completely and am rebuilding. Just as well as this engine had developed what I now understand to be a common 1.8t problem; a semi choked oil pickup and the main bearings were showing very slight wear so I have had the main bearings reground. I have had the head skimmed and valves cleaned etc etc. I hope you see where I am coming from, I am not really building for major power, more a standard reliable lump which may find itself with a small power hike sometime in the future. The problem I am coming across is finding a part supplier for 'OEM' or bog standard bits such as big end and main bearing cap bolts. main and big end bearings etc etc. some companies do some bits and others do others, but I cannot find a kit for all the seals and gasket I need or again its bits here and bits there with in a PITA to be blunt.

Where do you guys go for all the bits you need?

TIA
