    Hi all,

My Audi A4 cabrio has developed an intermittent fault. On occasion when locked the hazards will randomly flash. So far I have (i) checked the interior sensors are switched off (switch in drivers door) and (ii) checked the passenger carpet (which is dry).
Guess I need to randomly spray WD40 – any other suggestions?

I've heard that the physical switch is often the problem. Do you sometimes hear relay clicking from the center when driving?

No strange clicking noises. I think there must be a rogue connection somewhere - guess it's trial and error!

Ah glad I'm not the only one with this then. I've just acquired a 2003 Cabrio and noticed mine has done this a couple of times too.
I'll keep an eye on this thread for any solutions.

You will need vcds to check the alarm trigger log otherwise its going to be damn near impossible.

Yes, going to get a scan. Suspect it's rain related. Will post an update if I get it resolved. In spite of a new challenge every day, love the Cabriolet!

    Hi, still none the wiser!
I have left car into two garages but neither had computer that could read a fault log triggering the alarm.
    Its not:
    (i) the comfort switches under the passenger seat which are as dry as when they were originally fitted.
(ii) Neither is it water trapped under the brake servo and there is no evidence of water or leaves or debris to trap water (apparently water can gather and drip onto the heater element and trigger a fault).
Might start disabling devices and see if that helps i.e. hazard switch, aerial lead (which has a current to a unit in the boot lid).
