I recently bought a 2010 A4 B8 2 litre diesel with a few slight issues, options list says it has navi low, however it won't accept the disk i.e. doesn't 'suck' it in and when I select navi it says insert disc.

So I bought vcds (genuine item) from Gendan, when I connect to car it says navi module not installed, any ideas vcds gurus?

I should also add,if it's relevant, that the sd card slots don't appear to work either.

How long did you wait before you took the picture? If your system is not activated you still should get info about the mmi soft number(upper one), nav database may still be empty. Im quessing you have 3G basic, multimedia unit with 2 sd cardslots in center console if thats the case mmi is all in one with vcds module 5F(no separate nav module). Is cd/dvd drive 100% empty or maybe cd with music in- just in case?

I have left the car on longer and I now get software version BNav_EU_P0029_D1 , in the top sector still nothing below, there is no disk in the dvd drive, I physically removed the unit from the console and checked.

You say the mmi is in with vcds module 5f, where are the 'brains' for the system?

15sec could be to short time to software number to appear, still quessing what system you 100% have, can you post your module 5F scan. Never know what previous owner did... And what part number nav dvd you have or year?

As I say I've only just got VCDS so not that au fait yet, how do I get the info you need?

Let it be, why it does not eat your dvd, i cant say, maybe f..., you have 3G basic... You can make full autoscan and post here only the part regarding 5F there maybe error regarding your drive, anyway you still have factory soft and oldest map of your car...If you really like to run this map, copy this to sd card:
