So I took the car into the dealer today to have a few things checked and they confirmed that 0358 is the latest software available for my spec car. The 0442 apparently relates to cars with the virtual cockpit for which mine is not. They also said that there was a fix coming out in May for anyone who is having problems with the emergency pre sense system being a little too sensitive.

Thanks for info. Weird I have virtual cockpit and my dealer said no update, so go figure...

Where any of issues around vehicle not recognising key to start? How long was process before replacement agreed?
Currently encountering issues with a Nov reg any info would be of help.

Hi There,
My issue was mainly the sat nav position shown slowly falling behind actual position until it completely lost itself and would show me miles from where I actually was. Speed limit warning was also in kmph and would never work or stay set on the value I wanted.
The replacement process was a real pain. Car first went in before Christmas and had software updates, no joy. It then went in mid January for a complete mmi control unit replacement, this also did not fix the problem and the car remained at the dealers from then until mid March when Audi UK finally agreed to replace it. Initially they argued its is just a comfort issue and did not affect the cars performance or safety, even if audi literature states the matrix headlights also use gps location.
I was told that any replacement would also have the issue, even though courtesy cars were fine and no other forum members had the same problem.
Off the record I was told that it seemed they were delaying whilst trying to find a fix.
I had to email Audi UK ceo and also Audi Germany before progress was made.
My dealer was great throughout and I believe they took part of the hit on the replacement cost.

Thanks jmb7 for reponse, good to know dealer understood, Audi U.K.are currently saying I should try the fix on car even though they are not sure it will work, have asked them if they would be comfortable sending their wife out in car that may not start. They have yet to respond.
Interesting to hear the comfort/performance/safety scenario.
