If they refresh in a similar time line as the C6 that would mean that the C7 would be replaced by the C8 in 2018... Well the replacement would be announced late 2017 with production starting around then and then launched with first deliveries in 2018....

    C6 2004-2011 Facelift Aug 2008
    C7 2011-2018?? Facelift October 2015

All in time for me to change!!!

Though I do hope it doesn't follow the new A4 styling as I think it's starting to look like a SEAT. The wheels are awful!!

    2 words: Snow and floods.

allroads are a bit more discreet in my opinion, and probably go under the radar with the body coloured bumpers etc. Although my last one had that, but more eggshell than conventional shiny metallic, I do prefer the "duotone" look (80s Austin Rovers anyone? ) not least because I think it would be easier for a SMART repair or direct replacement if needed. I once toyed with the offroad pack on a Q5, but cost was prohibitive and it precluded more important options.

There's also the relative fuel efficiencies of a lower drag coefficient to consider which make it better suited to touring than a higher sitting crossover, Q7 etc. The variable ride height and grabbable roof rails also mean there's no excuse for wife/kids not to wash the car providing they know that sponges and grit don't mix.

Agree with AllotmentChap but I still don't get the folding mirrors thing. I can do that myself when needed, but way back they used to fold in when driving - useful in tight traffic.

There's also plenty of boot space compared to Q5 or Q3, especially footprint. Overall the car's a bit large, so perhaps also consider the new A4 allroad when the spec is released. I think it'll be just right.
