    Hi All,

New to the forum as I have just bought a new A6 - come from a Jag XF.

Whilst my Black Edition 2.0L TDI Quattro feels good to drive so far (albeit a 2L rather than my 3L V6 jag) and feels like everything is put together well and a quality interior, I have had issues with the MMI and wondered if I could get some advice?

Basically, about 5 times in a week since I've had it, the MMI system seems to be crashing or losing options. For instance the Audi drive selector when you press the 'car' button - its sometimes there and working but other times is blank with nothing on the screen apart from the titles.

I've tried everything to get it working but only by a force reset (3 button thing!) can I get the options back!

Also when driving last week to a place I didn't know, the sat nav crashed mid drive, and eventually the MMI just reset itself while I was still driving along! Not a big issue, but I don't think I should have to either be resetting manually so often or watching a frozen sat nav screen - all after the car is less than a week old!

The dealer I bought it from suggests I'm going mad as they 'haven't heard of this problem' - and my local dealer cant see me for about 3 weeks with a courtesy car.

I just wondered if anyone has any advice or similar issues that they resolved themselves?

    Many thanks,

    Simon.

Similar issue discussed - but it didn't get very far - on a thread from a couple of days ago:

It its a brand spanker then chuck it into the dealer, even if that means waiting. If you start tinkering they may see that as a way of getting out of fixing it

Dealers tend to use every excuse to avoid paying!!

I had the same issue with my FL. I took it into the dealer and the tech I spoke with said its because I'm using Bluetooth for iPhone 6 and AMI (plugged in iPod) and this is causing issues with the mmi crashing.

I gave it a go and unplugged the iPod and never experienced anything again. I knew it's hassle not using the plug in but was going through a change with the way I used music and this suited me anyway.

This may not be the same issue as you but it worked for me.

You can use iPhone connected via bluetooth and have an iPod connected via AMI, but you must make sure you have turned off Bluetooth Audio streaming on the phone via the MMI Bluetooth menu which is under the Phone section
