3G Basic MMI Update Question

I currently have software/firmware version BNav_EU_P0022_D1 on my car, can anyone confirm what the latest firmware version is for the 3G basic MMI.

I have looked around various forums and it not clear as to which version is the latest.

I think it is this

8R0906961DP

MMI 3G Bnav (Basic)

EU

K_0260

(A4/A5/Q5/A6/Q7) SVM:3GBEU260 (Latest version)

Also do you need to get this updated at the dealer or can it be done at home?

Will i need to update to an earlier update before doing this update or can you just go ahead with the update.

Hi Dan.
This is my first day on the forum since (I don't remember) and propably first post on this forum.

I had the same problem like you. Today I performed the update first to version 0031, 0257, 0260 plus I did install the new maps 2015/16.
I bought it as a bundle set from a guy on eBay. Sd cards have Audi stickers so I think it is original.
Everything works fine and Im happy.

I know I could download MMi updates myself for free but after reading that some people have problems after installation etc etc I decided to buy them.

Wherever you get hold of the disks there is always a risk, I've used the ones on the popular sites, as I know the files have been accessed many times and there have been little complaints from the users. The ebay/internet seller are breaking the law, and will take 0 responsibility if something goes wrong. Here is a good thread. MMI completely broken - what to do?

Do some research download the required file and DIY, don't give these guys a penny, after all where do you think they get the files in the first place!

I would get the disk from the dealer or TPS just need to know which ones needed, but this is answered above now.

I am not interested in the maps as the one that i have is good enough for where i need to go.

I have finally got round to ordering the firmware disc's and SD card that i need to update the firmware to K_0260.

I got three CD's and an SD from TPS £40.23 in total the SD card for the 260 update was £21 compared to the low cost of the disc's.

Just for your guidance, I have performed MMI update few days ago.

Take a good charger and connect it to terminals in engine compartment. Connect first on terminals, then chose car on charger and at last put charger on current. No need to keep ignition on, even do not insert the key during all process. Switch off all electricals gadgets. The system will reboots several times during update and I count up to 60 until it starts again so do not touch anything until it finish. On the end of the update it will reboot again and it will not start by itself, I waited few minuts and stared it by myself. I have jump 1 or 2 updates. Anyhow, my is MMI 3G High and everything goes well.

One more thing, software update took 20 minutes, maps took 3 hours and activation less then 5 minutes. Total hours of working (update + transferring files from comp to card) took 5 hours. Be patient...
