Advice on 2007 Audi A6 2.7tdi

Hi All,

Viewed a nice 2007 Audi A6 avant 2.7tdi sline tiptronic this morning. 128k miles and full service history. Appears to be well looked after. Anything I should be looking out for as I have no past experience with the V6 engines?

Injectors, dpf and tranny all should be checked.

timing chain rattle is a killer!

No DPF on an 07 for UK market.

Rear washer tubing on the estate needs to be checked that the tubing has been replaced, if original it may well leak over your amp and other bits on the left hand side.

Tranny is recommended (by ZF)S to have the fluid/filter changed after 80k miles and 50k thereafter.

If you know anyone with VCDS then get them to scan it first.

Also Audi do a free healthcheck in the UK, if your serious then ask the seller if they'll do it presale.

Injectors seem to be okay.
Don't remember seeing in the service book if the tranny fluid and filter were changed at 80k. I guess that is due again as currently at 128k. If this wasn't done at 80k could that cause some future serious problems, tranny seems to be working well.
Great tip on the rear washer tubing, I guess this is pretty inexpensive to change if it hasn't been done?
Will ask the seller about the Audi health check.
No evidence of timing chain rattle either.

I had the rear washer tubing issue on my car, luckily it was still under warranty. All stereo hardware was damaged total cost was around €600 EUR. Definitely check that too.

Washer tubing was a foc repair by audi. Re timing chains...make sure the car is stone cold when you start it, then listen very carefully with the door or windows open.
