    Hi,
Had a few snags with my tiptronic 1.9 TDI 54 reg. Drivers side flooded causing numerous issues. Leak sorted, it was the drain under the battery tray blocked. Auto transmission failed to safe mode, i replaced the auto transmission control unit (under floor in front of drivers seat) and that sorted also. Only remaining snag is the airbag light is illuminated. This was ok too until the leak. Does anybody know if a leak on the drivers (R/H) side would cause the airbag light to remain on? The passenger side is bone dry. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Take battery out of car for 10 mins to clear clear fault, if appears then something else is leaking.

    Are you using vagcom?

There are two drains bungs, one under the battery and one directly under the brake servo. Clean and flush out both. Unusual to flood the drivers side unless the water got in via the electronics module in the plenum chamber. Did you trace the leak. ?
When you dried the carpets have you disturbed the wiring under the seat or did the airbag light come on when it flooded. Regards Peter

Noticed more water pooling again this morning this time drivers side up against the inner wing where the bonnet release cable breaks through the bulkhead. There is also a large black box containing electrical things. Basically a load of debris was wedged under the electrical box preventing trapped water to drain down to under the battery drain bung. Water could have possibley drained in to the car as there are several grommets in that area. I will keep an eye on this area. I tried to find drain bung under brake servo but could'nt see it?

On the airbag front i disconnected battery for 30 mins and reconnected- light still on. Did not fancy touching battery leads + & - together as suggested earlier (will this cause damage?). There is an airbag fault displayed on the dash lcd display when you look in the service bit by pressing the stalk.

    Thanks for replies so far!

It's a vw trick, no power running through it because battery is out.

Ok well it could be ur claster dash unit, sometimes it's a solder joint that needs redoing.
Have u checked all wires under seats etc?
