Drivers door locked

Not got a chance at moment due to injured wrists but the drivers door won't open from the outside when unlocked. Only way of opening Is via the inside handle, sounds like locks operates ok just when you pull handle nothing.
Still no vcds here, just wondered if it common issue

Very common, there are a good few threads about it. Needs a new / replacement locking mechanism.

With my present condition of 2 knackered wrists a job for my local indie looking at your write up.
Locks about 150 new? Plus hour labour?

Yep around that on cost, and around an hour to do.

Tar. I'll call my indie tomorrow to book it in. I can't drive at present and my wife's pregnant so she struggling to reach across to use inside handle. Needs fixing asap

Yes it's a pain, at some point it may start working again then fail again!, it's bad micro switches inside the lock. I've had to replace driver & passenger sides.

Is the lock main dealer only or any decent patent. If a common issue don't see the point in secondhand.

genuine all the way, inferior parts are crap and won't last.

It would seem the genuine aren't exactly fail safe seeing how common it is.
