I have enabled the Auxillary Heating via VCDS and in the green menu .

    See MMI images attached .

however the timing is greyed out- I was hoping to use the time setting to, let fresh air into the car and thought this would work.

Any help would be much appreciated image.jpgimage.jpg

If your Q7's are pretty much the same as a Toureg, you will have a Webasto diesel combustion heater tucked up behind the drivers (IIRC) wheel arch. this has a small electric circulating pump and by the looks of your MMI display you can configure it to come in to defrost the car in the morning etc. You might have a sticker in the engine bay giving details of the webasto, next to the sticker that gives the AC refrigerant charge etc. Maybe on Shab's Q7 the yes or no is just giving you the option to switch it off, rather than the Econ button on a lot of other cars fitted with this heater.
Dont know much more specific to a Q7 or MMI set up - never played with one.

my car is an Audi A6 (used to have a q7 -hence user name) - I do not have auxilary heating / webasto heater- I have just enabled the options via VCDS and Green Menu on my A6 and I was hoping to at least be able to set the timers to let the fans run and let outside air in to the vehicle in the summer (don't want to leave windows open when parked all day).

as per my image the "Timers" are greyed out - So I can't select the times etc - i would like some help on how to enable the timers

To enable the timers you need the whole retrofit. Enabling it without the required hardware doesn't really benefit or have a purpose.

Yes I have that heater. It has an exhaust outlet on passenger front underside of car and does generate fumes when the car is initially turned on.

So on the A6 how does this heater work and how does it het activated? Assume car needs to be on

I have now enabled the timers - which lets you set the time duration of the "Heat" , date and start time , also the symbol lights up by the rotary dial that controls the speed of the fan when it's activated - I know i won't get "Heat" because the webasto heater is not fitted - its ventilation I'm after
