    Hi everyone,

I have a 2005 facelift A6 3.0 TDI S line. I've read a lots of threads about this servotronic but I cannot work it out. My problem is that the steering is always the same stiff whatever speed I do. As I have 18" tyres the parking is quiet hard especially for my wife.
So fluid is good, pump doesn't do any weird noises and when the car is on move I have no problem with steering. It seems the speed dependant servotronic doesn't work. Like it stuck at the speed at 70mph.
I know that the servotronic was an option when the car has left the manufacturer so I went to Audi and asked them if I have this option. They get the chasse number and got back with the answer YES, I have servotronic, although they call it differently.
So I didn't find the 605 or 628 relay anywhere. I've looked at all the possibilities but nothing I have a drawing from SSP 324 and I can't see any relay there. Does that mean I have no relay just the solenoid valve and the J520 Module?
I am a bit confused now so if is there anyone out there who could help me out, would be really appreciated.
    Many thanks in advance

    Si

    Welcome to the forum.

Your 2005 A6 is not a facelift model. Face lift is from reg 58 plate to 2011, (that is from 2009 to 2011 model years.)
Pre-face lift models went from 2005 to 2008.

Hi Roy and thanks for replying...plus the warm welcoming. You're right, my one is a pre-facelift sorry. I have the LED at the back and DRL lights to the front though has been done by the previous owner. I see that you have the same sort of car? Any idea about servotronic?

    Many thanks

    No, sorry.
I think it has something to do with making the steering heavier or lighter depending on the speed.

Thanks for the info gup. Hopefully not the solenoid value failed. Is that the small valve attached to the rack? That's the solenoid? I think I have to take off the rack to replace the solenoid as there is not much space to work around. The other day I unplugged the wire to make sure the electric connection is good to the rack. It took me 2 hours. I'll plug my computer on to the car at the weekend hopefully I'll know more.
