    Hi all,

l lost my AC and upon inspection the drive plate at the front pulley has deteriorated and fail to turn the pulley shaft. The rubber has become detached.
I then checked my existing compressor and it's made by Hella/Behr, see second photo. I only needs the front plate but struggled to find it online. Has any experience similar issue before? Anyone know if a Denso front plate will fit?

That is a budget alternative unit priced to be consummate with the value of the vehicle and Hella don't list any spare parts for it.

You could try contacting them to see if they can get any spares for the 8FK 351 110-881

I had the same failure of the pulley rubber insert on my Denso compressor on B5 passat TDI, couldn't say for sure if a denso pulley would fit that Hella unit but it looks a similar arrangement. I got a denso comp from a breakers and removed and swapped the pulley without having to break into the refrigerant circuit. the compressor can be dropped out of the cradle with hoses attached to get access to the pulley front bolt and the circlip behind. on mine there is a small shim setting the clutch clearance when disengaged - you'll need to be careful not to lose it!

Thanks for the information. So far the closest I found is 1K0260858D under be badge, not sure what brand it is. See photos. Does yours look similar? It's from a Seat Altea

Mine me is a clutch-less type so hope there is no shim. Was your radiator fan working then? And your compressor shaft can be turned by hand?

Mine does look similar to that Altea unit but mine (and your original unit) is a Denso. You might be better off getting a Denso from a breakers off a passat or something and changing the pulley if compatable or changing the whole thing. Are you sure there is no clutch on the hella? Thats what the rubber is for, to let the clutch move in and out axially when the electromagnet is energised. There will likely be a cable going in behind the pulley to the magnet.

    Thanks,.
mine is definitely a clutch less one. VW Audi started using these type few years ago. See the attached images straight from Hella catalogue about problem or issue. My case is like Figure 4 problem. But I struggle to find a like with like Hella compressor in the UK so will look for 'similar' type.

Ok, see what you mean now. Quite a different compressor from mine! Suppose you will have to locate a similar one to use or rob bits off.
