LT35 Diff replacement

Hi folks

Looking for a bit of advice regarding replacing the diff on my LT35. It's a 2006 model, 2.5TDI with ABS and ABD.

The diff started whining a few months ago and has been steadily getting worse since. Of course I have checked the oil level and all is good so it looks like I'm going to need a replacement sooner or later and wondered whether anyone on here had attempted such a replacement and could give me some pointers to look out for before I attempt the process.

I would be looking to obtain a second hand diff from a breakers or perhaps even a complete rear axle and would be grateful for comment sas to which is the easier/cheaper option.

complete rear axle, much much easier. iirc its a spring over axle arrangement, so the axle simply un bolts and drops down. are you sure its the diff thats whining though and not either a wheel bearing or even a rear tyre.
