    You need to drop the back seats and crawl in with a torch. take off the cover and manually open the boot, it's likely the solenoid has gone but you can get it open and repaired without damaging anything

    It could be the switch or actuator neither are expensive maybe 30 notes less from a breaker

    This is quite a common problem.

    The insulation on the wires in the loom to the boot lid where it folds over on itself breaks down and causes a short circuit. You most likely need to open up the loom where it folds and repair the exposed wires and insulation.

    You should still be able to put the key blade in the lock to get in but if that doesn't work you can indeed crawl in from with the back seats folded.
