Car has just started warning me I need new brake pads and instead of having to pay £399 to audi I was going to sort them myself, that is until I found there are a silly amout of pads and discs to choose from on EuroCarParts....

Rang TPS but they wanted £240

I've found the PR code 1LA which leads me to either of these discs:
    http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Au...isc/?104442088
    http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Au...c/?104448219&1

but none of the pads list 1LA as a pr code so i have no idea which set of pads it might be....The only pads on ECP that don't refer to 345mm diameter discs have the PR code 1LT None list 1LA

Can any one tell me if these are Teves or Lucas ones? Can anyone point me to how i find the right pads for these callipers?

The 1LA code should give the disc size you need and therefore the pad size.

The links you provide doesn't tell us the size difference between makes.

Discs are 320mm if that helps.

I've just gone GENUINE Audi for a brake "set"
    GENUINE discs x 4
    GENUINE Front & Rear pads
all new caliper and slider bolts, clips and backplates.

In one kit for £310 inc VAT

    Not worth bothering going aftermarket.

That's interesting Darren, I rang Audi first to get a bench mark price. They wanted £399 for fully fitted Front Discs and pads. Or just to supply front discs and pads the price was £322. (both inc vat)

Just in case anyone wants to know the outcome of this I've just stripped the callipers off to measure up the pads. Mine has TRW callipers on it.

Looking a GSF, they list pads with the PR code 1LA which matches my PR code.

    FRONT BRAKE PAD SET 642VG0021

All the measurements match up to my pads too.

So for font discs and pad it comes to £154 including their 25% web offer discount at the moment. far better than the £322 Audi quoted me for just front pads & discs.

Will order them and see if it all goes to plan!
