    Hi guys,
I changed the front discs and pads on my 01 gti 115bhp today. After I changed them my pedals like a sponge when you push it down. When the cars off its nice and hard but once started its spongy. The car stops fine but the pedal was never spongy before. I've changed discs and pads on many cars over the years without a problem. Not sure how I could have got air into the system doing this and I hope I havent done more serious damage . Any ideas, thanks in advance
    Mike

Air bubbles, bleed it with the old fashion kit and also a pressure pump on the resivour that should do it but top up with fresh fluid

you can't get air in by changing pads. did you loosen the bleed nipple when you pushed the piston back. if you did, great, if not then you may have pushed muck back into the abs pump or master cylinder. other option is the pads just need bedding in, but this is more usual when you havn't changed the discs and the pads have to wear to the shape of the old worn discs.
