Well I've seen a very nice 170tdi Quattro avant but I've heard the 2.0tdi's can suffer with oil pump failures! Is this all 2.0 or just the 140's?
yes i know i drive a corsa but not for much longer

Unless you want trouble and financial ruin avoid the 2.0 tdi like the plague and anything with a multitronic gearbox, be careful as some sellers may tell lies in their descriptions and to make it confusing the gearlevers even look the same!
Proper engine and proper slush auto box is only available with the 3.0tdi quattro.
Amazingly good on fuel and the gearbox is a zf unit as tough as old boots and fitted to many different makes of cars.
Dont be afraid of the big engine running costs as they are a really tough engine, my wife gets 38/40 mpg on her 15 mile commute to work, will do 47/50 mpg on a decent run and sensible speeds ie 75/80.
If it starts on the button, runs smooth from cold with no mechanical noises and the exhaust doesnt smell of unburnt diesel fumes its a goodun.

Just google search 2.0 tdi oil pump failure, 2.0 tdi turbo failure and multitronic gearbox problems, the horror stories are out there and the unsuspecting keep buying them

The 2.0 tdi oil pump drive is a fail legend .

The 77mm hex drive key and balancer shaft keyway have 5 engineering reasons why they fail .

If you get an ealier chain driven one you'll have 6 resons because the chain tensioner is prone to breaking .
